Nicaragua obtains safe travel stamp from WTTC

Nicaragua obtained the seal of safe travels from the World Travel and Tourism Council, WTTC, for applying Tourism Biosafety Protocols in the context of covid-19, which were jointly prepared by government institutions such as the Nicaraguan Tourism Board, Intur; Ministry of Health, Minsa; Ministry of Labor, Mitrab; National Technological Institute, Inatec; Ministry of Development, Industry, and Commerce, Mific; and the private sector.

The Codirector of the Nicaraguan Tourism Board, Anasha Campbell stated that “Nicaragua promotes responsible, sustainable, inclusive and accessible tourism for all; having the human being as the center of our policies and strategies. Our priority is the health and well-being of our visitors and our compatriots”.

Safe Travels was created in order to restore the confidence of travelers and strengthen the travel and tourism sector, affected by the pandemic. Since its launch in May 2020, the label has been adopted by 200 destinations around the world.
